As the founder and driving force behind True House LA, Joel DeMarzo has spent more than two decades dedicated to the culture, sound, and evolution of house music. A DJ, producer, label head, and curator, DeMarzo approaches his craft with one philosophy at the center of everything he does: house music is a feeling.

Rooted in the foundations of underground house, DeMarzo’s sound moves effortlessly between past, present, and future. His sets blend timeless classics, rare selections, deep grooves, funk, disco, and forward-thinking house music, creating journeys built for the dance floor rather than confined by genre. With an extensive collection and an instinct for reading a room, no two Joel DeMarzo sets are ever quite the same.

Throughout his career, DeMarzo has shared stages and lineups with respected artists including Paul Johnson, Chromeo, DJ Dan, Doc Martin, Mark Farina, Colette, Mark Grant, Doc Link, Sista Stroke, Mike Lachman and many others. From intimate underground rooms to festivals and international showcases, his focus remains unchanged: connection, energy, and music that moves people.

As a producer, DeMarzo brings that same philosophy into the studio. His productions are driven by warm, rolling basslines, infectious percussion, soulful influences, and grooves designed with the dance floor in mind. Drawing inspiration from old-school funk and disco, the Marley family, Derrick Carter, and decades of underground dance music culture, his music reflects an appreciation for where house has been while continuing to push toward where it can go next.

Through True House LA, DeMarzo has expanded that vision beyond his own career, creating a platform for established artists, emerging talent, original releases, events, and collaborations. From Southern California to international destinations including the Amsterdam Dance Event, his journey continues to connect artists, dancers, and communities through a shared love of authentic house music.

For Joel DeMarzo, True House is more than a label, a party, or a sound.

True House is a feeling.
